HelenJuneKang Instagram: UX Design Practice 2021

With the new year coming and wanting to start a new project, I decided to start an Instagram account where I would take on a new design task once a day and try to churn out a new design by nightfall. I would find prompts online and create things such as new website heroes, new app layouts, and even redesign something for an existing company.

Please be sure to click the Instagram Logo at the bottom of this page and check out my other work @helenjunekang !

Redesigning for Existing Companies

Some designs I did focused on redesigning some features for companies that I enjoy, such as Nike and Glossier. I wanted to design an app for these companies where consumers could peruse new products and shop.

The last image is from when I participated in a Company Redesign hosted by Ran Segall and was featured on his page! We were prompted to redesign the website for Camp Poe, which provides yoga and surfing lessons, so I wanted to focus on a tropical getaway in the ocean!

Creating for Non-Existing Companies (Apps)

Other days, I would find a company prompt online and create either an app or web design for a company I created in my head. If you go on my Instagram, the caption is the prompt and how felt about the design that day so be sure to check it out!

Creating for Non-Existing Companies (Websites)

I used to just do heroes but I have expanded into creating a bit more to practice white space and flow.
